Dionne joined VicRoads in 2006, transforming corporate affairs into an innovative and integrated function that has been recognised for a number of world-first digital initiatives. She is both creative and analytical, and has moved the organisation to digital media while continuing to deliver strategic business outcomes on a day-to-day basis through a geographically diverse team statewide. Dionne is able to influence at all levels with an understanding of government, including at Ministerial and Cabinet level. VicRoads’ digital approach was commended by the Victorian Auditor General in his 2012 report into advertising as an example of best practice. Dionne has been an active contributor to the Corporate Management Group at VicRoads and is a strong leader that is prepared to tackle difficult issues. Gary Liddle, CEO VicRoads now CEO V/Line

Dionne was responsible for taking VicRoads on an amazing communications and social media journey that positioned us at the forefront of communicating with our customers and stakeholders. Her understanding of the importance of flexible and mobile communications meant that we were able to provide critical information to Victorians and also listen to their needs and adjust our information accordingly. Dionne’s leadership and empathy for what we were all trying to achieve made her a fantastic member of the executive team. She could not only see over the hill but over the mountains as well. Her ability to add the strategic challenge kept the team thinking , she could read the landscape and would make sure her people were supported to be their best in all situations. Judith Pettitt, OAM, Executive Director People Services VicRoads

Dionne is an outstanding connector and communicator. Through seemingly relaxed conversation, she will crawl inside your brain, rummage around for the best bits and present you with the gift of your own thoughts now fully dressed and ready to enter polite society. She has the ability to deeply connect with your goals as if they were her own, find amazing information and people and things you wouldn’t have ever looked for yourself or perhaps didn’t think existed, and surprise you with a level of care and attention beyond expectations. She is highly professional, gifted and kind – and if you have the opportunity to team up with her, take it! Stephanie Beath, Director, Comsen, Director PwC

Dionne is not a geek. She is a social media historian and critic, She takes a person through the looking glass into the world a younger generation inhabits but which people over fifty need to enter. She is a delight to work with. Harrison Young, Chairman, The Conversation Media Group, Non-Executive Director Commonwealth Bank

Dionne is an authority on the strategic use of social media for leaders and organisations. As a speaker, she brings her considerable expertise in the broader communications landscape to deliver a highly focused and relevant message about how to establish or regain trust in the digital environment. I’ve found her to be generous with her time and expertise and compelling in front of an audience, whether live or virtual. Dr Neryl East

Over the five years I have had an opportunity to work with Dionne I have greatly respected and valued her ability to connect me with and make practical sense of the digital world. She is a tremendous teacher and mentor for we non technology leaders who have to make sense of and develop the knowledge and confidence to effectively operate in this dynamic space. Anita Muller, Non-Executive Director, Leadership Coach

Dionne introduced me to the world of social media, providing me with the framework that gave me the confidence to embrace a new communication medium. She is skilled at communicating new concepts – such as the professional application of social media – to people from a range of personalities and backgrounds. David Singleton AM, Chairman

I engaged Dionne to present to the Standards Australia Board on the impact of emerging digital and social media issues for business strategy and governance. She’s a compelling speaker and her incisive thinking and deep understanding of the impact of these mega-trends on business was fascinating. Dionne managed to lay out the global context, economic impacts, emerging economies and legal board and executive responsibilities clearly and by demonstrating their specific relevance to our business. She really understands the executive context. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended. Bronwyn Evans, Director, CEO

I’ve heard Dionne Lew speak at events a number of times and I am always mesmerised by her ability to capture an audience’s attention. I recently saw her speak at the Social Media Risk & Reputation Management Forum and prior to that we invited Dionne to speak at our Aquent/Firebrand Talent/Vitamin T Digitalks events both in Sydney and Melbourne. Not only is she incredibly articulate and engaging, but her depth of knowledge in the areas of social media for executives and leaders and everything relating to social strategy is incredible. Everything she presents on is backed up by facts and case studies which really helps the audience to digest the content, get inspired and leave with some practical strategies to bring back their business. Carolyn Hyams, Marketing Director

Undoubtedly a leader in her field, as an Executive I have found Dionne’s advice and guidance on social media platforms and strategies invaluable. Her insights into what organisations need to know in order to survive and thrive assist business leaders to identify opportunities and meet the challenges arising from the continuously emerging social media economy. Jennifer Gersbeck, Executive Director and CEO

Dionne is one of those rare people who can range across several disciplines – from strategy and communications through to psychology and systems thinking – and synthesise insights in a way that makes sense. Life is increasingly complex, and leaders face heavy demands which create static that can cloud judgment and obscure fundamental issues. Dionne’s ability to help leaders cut through this static, to focus on what’s important in achieving their goals, is invaluable. Her understanding of the key trends reshaping the landscape, especially in the technology space, provides a context that’s essential to effective leadership, strategy and decision-making. Josie Gibson, Director Catalyst Network

Dionne’s razor sharp media eye was crucial in V/Line’s role in Regional Fast Rail and Southern Cross Station Redevelopment, the State’s largest infrastructure projects at the time. Her instincts around issues management combined with her deep communication experience contributed to V/Line raising and maintaining a positive public profile. All achievements that deserve recommendation. Ursula McGinnes, Director Public Affairs and Communication

Dionne is just breathtaking. So far ahead of everyone else without realising but in such an unassuming way. I love that she is happy to take everyone along for the ride. Dionne has a view of the world that is so much bigger than herself and is so refreshing. Georgie Hawkins

Dionne opened our eyes to key social and digital issues in the hyper connected era and the impact they are having on businesses across the globe. Importantly, she talked about what corporate affairs professionals could to do to influence changes within their organizations and their critical role in leadership. Dionne has enormous charisma and gravity. I’d love to see more of her presentations. Monika Lancucki, CEO and Chair, IABC Victoria

Dionne spoke at a number of Frocomm conferences and events between 2009-2011. An incisive and highly professional speaker, she is undoubtedly an authority in her field and has a deep understanding of the corporate mindset. Dionne successfully led social media strategy in conservative organisations and this really stands out in her presentations, especially in her knowledge around crisis and governance issues. Dionne is well researched, well prepared, professional, engaging, great on stage, and fantastic with the delegate Q&A. Glen Frost, Founder Fintech Award and Summit

Dionne is an engaging speaker and has the rare ability to communicate complex information in way that is entertaining and accessible. She is a thought leader across a number of disciplines but especially in digital and social media where she has an unsurpassed track record in pushing boundaries to accomplish extraordinary results. I have had the pleasure of watching her deliver many enlightening presentations over the years and recently engaged her to share her powerful strategies for online community engagement. Her presentation was extremely well prepared and appropriately targeted, guiding participants through the maze that is social media and its relationship to community engagement.
